Towel Bar
I have a towel bar fixed to the wall with plastic anchors - The anchors are now pulling out of the wall.?
How do I fix this?
1) Patch the holes with drywall putty and relocate the bar so the mounts line up with the stud wall, even if only one side lines up with a wall stud, it is better than nothing.
2) If this cannot be done use a plastic SCREW TYPE anchor to replace those cheap cone shaped plastic anchors. Find a size that can handle the weight of a wet towel. You can anchor to a stud wall on one side and a screw anchor on the other.
3) Toggle bolts are a last resort (and the strongest) but you need to drill larger holes in the wall to install the toggles into the wall and they are humbug to use in this application. Pre-plan and make sure the holes aren't too large and too close together, you might weaken the drywall and/or not be able to completely cover the holes with the towel bar brackets.
