How deep should the water be in a finch bath bowl?
Our zebra finches never seem to use their bath bowl and I wonder if the water is to deep?This bowl has a small mirror in the bottom could this be the reason?
1/2" of water is plenty for a finch's bird bath. A small finch can easily drown if you have too much water in the bowl. My zebra finches use their water bowl to bathe. They enjoy splashing around in the bowl. I make sure to change the water after they bathe. Make sure the water isn't too cold or too hot. It should be lukewarm.
