how to connect surface mount acoustic guitar transducer to PC?
I have a Computer Guitar Cable which has a standard jack on one end, and a mini-jack on the other and a surface mount acoustic transducer. How to connect this to my PC ...plz assist in detail
It would be easier to answer in detail if you could post a link to the "Computer Guitar Cable". From your description, it sounds like you have a stick-on transducer pickup for the guitar. Typically these stick on the guitar somewhere near the bridge. You may have to experiment with placement to get the best sound. They can usually also be mounted permanently inside the guitar and the cable runs out the hole by your strap button.
Your computer has a "mic-in" plug, possibly on the back. Usually this is a 1/8" mini plug. This is where you'll plug your cable into. It's possible you might need to get an adapter, but it sounds like your cable has the correct end.
Transducer > cable > "mic-in" on computer.
It's possible that the transducer won't put out enough signal strength and will need to be boosted through a pre-amp, but you may be ok just plugging straight into the computer. You can open up the computers mixer and turn the input volume up full. Then you just need a recording program like 'Audacity' which is free.
