If a human doesn't masticate, do they still need to practice oral hygiene?

Just wondering: I was thinking about comatose people hooked up to feeding tubes, or those who receive nutrients through their veins and wondered, do they still need to brush their teeth? and if so, who does it?

if anything there teeth are worse as bacteria still builds up but they do not use the mechanical action of eating and drinking which removes some plaque it just grows untill there are huge amounts of tartar present.
nurses should do it for them or carers, but regular dental appointments with a community dentist to try and keep the teeth as clean as possible is best.

some people have teeth like this either they dont brush or have been in a coma for 6 months.
